Cycle Ride & Picnic at Hampton Court for Malden Manor Residents
Saturday 09 Sep 2017

The Malden Manor beginners cycling group are capping an amazing summer with a relaxed day ride next Saturday 9th September to Hampton Court. The ride will be led by Sustrans staff, and will follow a quiet route to Hampton Court where we will stop for a picnic before returning to Malden Manor. Exact details for the day will follow, but we are likely to meet around 10am outside the Coop.

We currently have 4 people signed up, and will only be able to offer the ride if we have a few more so please do RSVP to sam.jamieson@sustrans.org.uk if you are interested! Feel free to invite friends if they are a competent cyclist.

Who can join the ride?

- if you own a working bike
- can balance with confidence, use your brakes and follow a straight line
- are over the age of 18, or have an parent/ carer accompany you who is (no under 10s, sorry)
- want to meet your neighbours and enjoy a lovely day out!

We encourage people who are not confident to ride on road on your own, but would like to follow a group on quiet roads and stretch your legs.

Any questions or concerns - just ask!

STOP PRESS!
We also have two panniers for sale at cost price. These panniers clip on the left side of the rack and are a great way to carry things such as shopping (or a champagne/ prosecco picnic) on your bike.

Price: £18.00

Become a cycling instructor

If you love cycling, you might consider becoming a cycling instructor. Whether you would like to make it a full-time job or you just want to pass on some skills at your local school or youth club, undertaking the National Standard Instructor training is the first step.

Kingston is the only London borough recognised as an instructor training organisation (ITO). Since 2007, we have trained more than 300 instructors for local authorities and independent providers.

You can read more about our training here, and learn more about being a Bikeability Instructor here

Get involved?

Cycling is a fantastic way to exercise, travel, and enjoy the great outdoors. Wind in the hair (under your helmet of course), sunglasses on, and a picnic in your bag. However, not everyone sees it this way.

Therefore, CycleKingston is appealing to you to share the good, the bad (and the ugly?!) We want to hear your cycling experiences, news and showcase success stories along the way too.

If you have material you think we should feature on the website, drop us an email on info@cyclekingston.net with the information and some images and we'll do our best to feature them.
